I cannot delete a downloaded file

Things have got worse, I now cannot delete any video or image file, have tried a large number of suggestions so it looks as if I will have to backup every file and go back to Windows 7 and then reload everything!!!!!!!!!!!!! Usually if forums don't help they can because they can take remote desktop and fix stuff. Check the Properties of the Videos Folder, it sounds as if they have somehow become set to 'Read Only'. Hi, I checked and you are right, every single file and folder had become "Read Only" spent some time resetting permissions and changing setting and then found that the files had gone back to "read only" again but at least I managed to delete all the old files I needed to.
It sounds as if there is either some setting within Windows 10 that resets these settings, or some form of bug. When these folder permission changes occur it can usually be tracked back to some over aggressive behaviour by some, third party, system security software. Hi MJA, permissions are now stable and have remained as set but files and folders still return to "read only" although they save OK and can be moved etc. Not quite sure what is going on, is there a setting with Windows 10 that you know of that resets files to read only?
